           EVERYONE that attended the beach weekend last September had a WONDERFUL time and are excited to be going back!  We are asking all of those that went to tell us their thoughts about the weekend on the "Message Board" page - be sure to see their comments.  Also, see the pictures (taken by Darlene Brigance Patterson under the page "Photo Albums."

March 19, 2012 - UPDATE
Hello Graduates of North Mecklenburg,

         If you didn't get to go to the Beach Weekend in September, 2011, I guess you really missed a lot of fun!  The ones that did go decided that this needs to be an annual event and so Sam Wilson has been busy making all the arrangements for another fun-filled weekend for us all at North Myrtle Beach!  Sure hope you can plan to be with us this year!

         The classmates that went said it was a most relaxing and fun time - having some down time with former schoolmates - we had attendees from 1958, 1959, 1960 and 1961, and maybe another class or two.  Lots of memories shared and old acquaintances renewed - all while sitting around the lobby, the outside deck or walking on the beach as well as the Friday night get together and Saturday night "feast!"  And, best of all, at a really good price!!  Can't beat it!!   

          Once again, we have obtained a block of rooms at the Ocean Drive Beach & Golf Resort in North Myrtle Beach, SC 29597.  Everyone will need to make their own reservations with the Resort, staying however long as you would like - we are not limited to those two nights.  Or, if you prefer, you can plan to stay somewhere else of your own choice but participate in activities with those that will be staying at the Resort.  Room rates will be from $69.00 to $89.00 per night (see the website for particulars). The Resort will provide (1) heavy hors d'oeuvres on Friday evening, (2) a large buffet on Saturday night, and (3) the disc jockey for BOTH nights who will play primarily beach music and other 50's and 60's songs as well as your specific requests! - all for the price of $60.00 per person.  This will be paid on or before September 1, 2011, directly to the Resort whether you  are staying there or not.  You will be provided a bracelet when you arrive and will not be allowed into the reception Friday night or the banquet Saturday night without the bracelet.   To make reservations for a room and/or reservations for the Friday and Saturday activities, call:

           NOTE CHANGE:  Contact person:  YOU MAY TALK WITH ANY of the Reservations persons available.   
           
           This Reunion will be not only for the Class of 1960, but the classes of 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962 and any other North Meck graduates that you know and tell about this event and want to come.  If you have a mailing list or e-mail list for classes other than those mentioned, feel free to pass this info along to those classes.   

           Look at the page "Details of Events" to see what all will be going on.  Then, be sure to complete the "RSVP" page so we know who is planning to attend.   PLEASE NOTE:  We must give the Resort a tentative number on April 15 to be certain we have their minimum requirement.  That tentative number will come from the RSVP page so you MUST place your name on that list to be counted.  You can then make your personal reservations at the Resort for rooms, the Friday & Saturday meals, or BOTH on or before September 1, 2011.
